Temporary Strainer
Temporary strainers are used in new or revamped piping systems where initial sold loading is minimal. They should be used for start-up applications only and should not be considered permanent strainers. Temporary strainers are designed to provide protection for costly values, pumps, meters, and other mechanical equipment.
Application areas include fluid and gas handling equipment, and other water and oil system. The design allows functioning at high differential pressure. The strainer usually comes with a signal arm, elongated for easy identification. They can also be manufactured for reverse flow or to suit the customer's application.
Temporary strainers are installed in pipelines as illustrated above between two flanges for easy removal and cleaning. They can generally withstand high pressure drops.
